The Warship class had a relatively short lifespan for Mainline locomotives with D821's particular career starting on the 25th of May 1960 and coming to an end on the 4th of December 1972.

Photographs of Greyhound during British Railways service are fairly few and, of these, the early years are particularly scarce to say the least. A small selection have been gathered together here.
